Basic Principles
The noninvasive tissue oxygenation monitor can detect and monitor tissue oxygenation parameters noninvasively and in real time using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). There are large amounts of arterioles, venules and capillaries in biological tissue (Fig.1). The oxygenation parameters include the absolute value of the average blood oxygen saturation (named as regional tissue oxygen saturation or tissue oxygenation index, TOI) in the above mentioned vessels. The oxygenation parameters also include the concentration changes of total hemoglobin (tHb), oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO2) and deoxygenated hemoglobin (Hb) in mmol/L or μmol/L compared with their original values in the above vessels. Because the near infrared light can easily penetrate through the overlaying tissues such as skin, fat and skull, and then into human brain and muscle, the oxygenation parameters in human brain and muscle can be detected noninvasively (Fig.2).
Being different with pulse oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitor which is often used in clinic, TSAH-100 can monitor not only oxygen supply but also its consumption in regional tissue. So it can provide real-time and reliable physiological references in clinic.

Pediatrics: Monitor cerebral oxygen saturation of preterm infants with different gestational durations, and monitor cerebral oxygen saturation of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) infants.
Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB): Monitor cerebral oxygenation of patients under CPB in real time.
Stomatological Surgery: Monitor oxygenation and blood transportation of the transplanted flap after surgery.
Assess the functions of skeletal muscles to select excellent athletes.
Assess drug effects during treatments.
Monitor cerebral oxygenation in plateau medicine, and so on.
